The bar keeps getting higher (or faster) for Rubik’s Cube speedcubers.

2014 US Rubik’s Cube champion Collin Burns solved a 3x3x3 Rubik’s Cube in just 5.25 seconds during an official World Cube Association (WCA) event in Central Bucks West High School in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.

Burns solved the tricky three-dimensional puzzle 0.3 seconds faster than the previous record holder from the Netherlands, Mats Valk.

Upon seeing the official timer frozen at 5.253 seconds, the room erupted into applause and celebration.

According to the WCA’s website, all proceeds from the event will go to A Woman’s Place, a domestic violence organization. IDL
