UXMNL 2015

Manila, Philippines—It has been a big year so far for User Experience (UX) and it shows no signs of slowing down. Though questions about how well developed the UX scene is in the Philippines still remain and how many people truly understand what UX is, UXMNL has been working doubly hard to answer such questions with their seminars, conferences, and workshops.

In this ever-advancing digital world, the demand for professionals with the right UX skills continues to grow. Products are no longer differentiated by their features alone but through great user experience; a process that prioritizes the customer above all else which makes the product or service stand out amongst its competitors. The international crowd has been buzzing about UX for several years now and the local community is quickly catching up. Enter User Experience Manila or UXMNL, the first and only dedicated UX agency, whose mission is to make the country the hub of anything and everything UX.

FEATURED STORIES

UXMNL’s approach to it’s goal of making outstanding customer experience the norm in the Philippines is two-fold. Firstly, to teach consumers to expect outstanding customer experiences and secondly, educate companies on how to create them.

UXMNL recently held their biggest summit, UX Summit 2015, at the Green Sun Hotel last May 29-30, 2015.Tickets sold extremely fast with over 500 meals served over the weekend and people who contacted UXMNL directly in the last week had to be turned away. Repeat attendees Globe, OLX, Smart, Accenture, Hewlett Packard and many others bought their tickets early.

The two-day summit consisted of two workshops with each a day full of learning from award winning and internationally renowned UX experts from Australia, Mr. Matt Magain and Ms. Donna Spencer. Their topics were “Innovation As A Necessity, Not A Luxury” and “Developing A Killer Information Architecture”, respectively.

The summit was not the typical “sit down and listen” affair. Various tools for innovation were introduced by Magain. Participants were given hands-on activities from writing down ideas using markers and post its, to thinking outside the box while designing them. Spencer, on the other hand, guided everyone through the process of developing a Killer Information Architecture.

This is why we offer interactive exercises to hit home the learning points.”

The team is already busy planning their UXMNL Platinum series of workshops coming up in the next few months, which will see attendees limited to a much smaller set of around 20 people.
