Fastest smartphones aren’t necessarily Samsung or Apple devices

Chart is taken from Antutu’s website.

While Samsung and Apple smartphones excel in form and design, these devices aren’t necessarily the fastest mobile phones in the market, according to the latest performance ranking from the Antutu benchmarking app’s website.

While the Samsung Galaxy S7 and iPhone 6 are no slowpokes, the current top performer, vivo Xplay 5 Elite, is from a brand that’s not as popularly known to most Filipinos. Next to it are Lenovo and Xiaomi whose line-up offers alternatives to the premium brands that provide equivalent if not better performance at a slightly lower cost.

It’s also worth mentioning that the top three devices on the list are equipped with 6GB of RAM and Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon 820 processor.

Fret not, for Samsung and Apple are still in the running, with their Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, iPhone 6S and iPhone SE taking up the 5th, 6th and 7th places, respectively. So there’s not much reason to retire them yet.  Alfred Bayle
