LOOK: Social media ‘goes nuts’ over Sushi donuts
From the drool-worthy matcha donuts to the newest appetizing treat – Sushi donuts, social media can’t help but stare at the mouth-watering concoctions of ‘food mash-ups’ circulating online.
Social media users were mesmerized with the culinary delight brought by the sushi donuts, a combination of fresh sushi ingredients cropped into a donut.
Citing reports from Huffington Post and trendy news site Mashable, the sushi donut social media obsession on Instagram began when one user formed a donut from sushi leftovers.

Food blogger Sam Murphy, who uses the Instagram username Sobeautifullyraw, designed and created ‘vegan’ sushi donuts. The blogger narrated, “This is how I used up my sushi leftovers. Simply grease a donut mold with coconut oil, mold in cooled sushi rice and then gently remove by lifting the pan upside down. Decorated with black sesame, ginger, wasabi, cashew Mayo & avocado.”
