‘Charming’ Japanese parody of Donald Trump trends online
A ‘kawaii-themed’ parody of United States Republican nominee and New York real estate developer Donald Trump raised eyebrows and, at the same time, cracked up social media users on YouTube.
Mike Dahlquist, whose screen name is Mike Diva, a YouTube musician and meme creator, uploaded a spooky commercial entitled “Japanese Donald Trump Commercial” on Wednesday, and it has managed to accumulate 696,000 views as of this writing. The similar video uploaded on Mike Diva’s Facebook page accumulated 11 million views, 64,000 likes and reactions, 206, 370 shares, and 31,000 comments as of Friday morning.
The pink and lavender-colored clip started with a Japanese schoolgirl ‘obsessed’ with Donald Trump as she adorably caresses his framed portrait. Then, she glimpses Trump on TV as he wins the ‘world presidency’ seat. From there, the video blasted with different effects and mind-blowing sketches of a unicorn and Cherry Blossom trees with Trump’s faces.
Furthermore, the blue-haired schoolgirl rushes to embrace Trump, and the presidential aspirant quickly transforms into a Transformer prototype, and he detonates the planet Earth into asteroids, an occurrence some social media users theorize as Trump’s ‘hidden agenda’ in running for the presidency.
Many users hailed Diva for his creative skills in anime, while others blabbered out humorous comments.
“This is why you never nuke a country twice,” said one user. Another user pinpointed YouTube users to a scene in a video where Trump made the Nazi salute.
