Reigning Miss Universe and self-confessed gamer Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach has officially joined the “Pokemon Go” craze.
In a live video uploaded on the Miss Universe Facebook page on Thursday, Wurtzbach was seen playing the smash-hit Nintedo mobile game while walking on the streets of New York, where she is currently based.
“I’m about to go to a movie premiere but I still have some time. I got ready quite early so in the meantime I’ll be playing Pokemon Go right here on the streets of New York. Why not?” she said.
Wurtzbach shared her favorite Pokemon is Pikachu, regarded as the main character in the franchise.
At one point while playing, a passerby asked for a photo with her, but Wurtzbach said she had to catch the Pokemon first before granting the request.
Wurtzbach also sang the first part of the Pokemon theme song.
The Filipino titleholder previously said she was a “closet gamer,” citing “Final Fantasy” and “Tekken” as her favorite video games.
