VIRAL: Biker repulses smoking jeepney drivers with odd campaign

/ 05:03 PM August 02, 2016

A video clip of an anonymous motorcycle driver playing the role of a “road vigilante” on the streets of Metro Manila has earned kudos from Filipino netizens.

The viral video, which was uploaded on Facebook page “Nobody Cares – Philippines” on Monday, is regarded as a simple social media campaign to rebuke jeepney drivers who smoke and clutter their cigarette butts on the streets. It was accompanied with a line from the Land, Transportation, Franchising, and Regulatory Board Memorandum Circular No. 36, S. 2009, which states that “smoking, or the act of carrying a lighted cigarette or other tobacco product, is prohibited in all public utility vehicles and public transportation terminals.”

Netizens glorified the motorist’s street policing act but cautioned him from the perils he could have faced during his road stunt.

As of this writing, the video was viewed nearly 35,000 times. Gianna Francesca Catolico
