MSI VR One to be showcased at Tokyo Game Show 2016

VR backpacks started out as odd-balls when they were first unveiled to the public last E3 until big names like HP and Alienware decided to join the bandwagon. Now MSI is gearing up for a big reveal of a more advanced version of what they displayed at E3.

When MSI first made the announcement, it only had a low resolution concept shot to show for. For the Tokyo Game Show, however, the company has teased the forthcoming VR One, reports TechCrunch.

Apart from the more official-sounding name, the backpack now sports a more angular design MSI has revealed some of its specifications. Surprisingly, the device was made in collaboration with the HTC Vive team.

As for the specs, the backpack has onboard batteries that can last for 1.5 hours of gameplay. It runs on a GeForce GTX 1 graphics card and features an HDMI, Mini DisplayPort and Thunderbolt3 port. It also has nine heat pipes and several vents to help vent the heat. The VR One weighs 4.85 pounds.
