As if Facebook doesn’t have enough gimmicks to keep users glued to the service and spend hours of their lives browsing the feed, the company wants to add another. This time it is looking at the corporate world with a LinkedIn equivalent in the works.

There is no official name for the feature yet, but Facebook has announced it is already testing it out and will allow administrators to post job openings. Already, it has received applications from hopeful candidates, reports The Next Web.

A spokesperson from Facebook told Reuters, “Based on behavior we’ve seen on Facebook, where many small businesses post about their job openings on their Page, we’re running a test for page admins to create job postings and receive applications from candidates.”

The method for monetizing the feature has not yet been made clear, however. It will undoubtedly be different from LinkedIn, which charges headhunters and recruiters a monthly fee to connect.

With users already mixing business and pleasure on the social networking site, it makes sense to give them a dedicated feature that would help them find jobs as easily as shopping on Facebook’s Marketplace.

This is not to mention companies, which also have Facebook profiles that users can follow to get news and updates from. If this feature pushes through, it could potentially make it far easier for jobseekers and recruiters to get in touch with one another.  Alfred Bayle
