Man sets up GoFundMe page to ‘protect Betty White from 2016’
To put it simply, 2016 has not been so kind to celebrities.
This year marked the sudden deaths of some of Hollywood’s most prominent figures including Prince, Muhammad Ali and Alan Rickman, to name a few.

As 2016 draws to a close, one man is attempting to “spare” the life of his favorite celebrity, having launched a GoFundMe page to “Help Protect Betty White from 2016.”
According to Fox News, Demetrios Hrysikos from South Carolina, USA, has enlisted the aid of the popular crowdfunding site to be able to fly to wherever actress Betty White is and protect her—should anything bad happen before the year ends.
Article continues after this advertisementThe seemingly comical post is actually legit and will donate all funds raised to the Spartanburg Little Theater.
“Help 2016 catch these hands if it goes anywhere near Betty White! If she’s okay with it I will fly to where ever Betty White is and keep her safe till Jan 1 , 2017,” Hrysikos described the post.
“Now, assuming she doesn’t want a strange Greek standing gaurd (guard) outside her door all monies will be donated to the Spartanburg little theater to help craft new stars of stage and screen to carry mantle of the legends that have left is this year.”
Since its initial posting, the page has collected over $1,025 (P50,989) from 96 donations and is on its way to achieving its goal of $2,000.
The post has also gone viral, with several fans expressing their concern for the 94-year-old’s well-being. Khristian Ibarrola
