Globe provides relief packs and sets up Libreng Tawag and Charging station to fire victims in Malabon

Globe Telecom has provided relief and communication assistance to families who were displaced during the fire and earthquake which hit Malabon and Surigao del Norte, respectively, early February.

One hundred packs of relief goods such as rice, water, and easy open canned goods were sent over to Barangay Catmon in Malabon where fire razed an urban poor community and left over a thousand families homeless while 500 packs were turned over to the province of Surigao del Norte which was severely affected by the recent 6.7-magnitude earthquake. Surigao City, which also suffered from the effects of the earthquake, received 200 relief packages.

Aside from food assistance, Globe also set up Libreng Tawag and Charging stations in the said areas to assist residents who needed to get in touch with their relatives and friends.  The company also donated call cards and SIM cards to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (PDRRMC) of Surigao del Norte to supplement the communication requirements of PDRRMC field officers.
