WATCH: 3-year-old girl playfully snatches Pope Francis’ hat

Three-year-old Estella Westrick was one of the lucky few to get a close encounter with the head of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis.

After receiving a kiss from the beloved Pontiff, the toddler was so smitten that she wanted to take a souvenir home with her.

As seen in a now viral video posted by a blogger who calls himself Mountain Butorac on Twitter, the bubbly little girl got over-excited around the Pope, and managed to grab his traditional skull cap, known as a “zucchetto.” The good-natured Holy Father took it pretty well, laughing along.

“Took my Goddaughter to meet the pope. She stole his hat!” he captioned his post, which has since been shared over 14,000 times.

In a CNN report, the proud godfather said Estella was “a little nervous” right before being held up just inches from the Vatican head.

“It was hilarious, everyone was laughing, including the Pope,” he said. “It’s her first full day in Rome; who knows what she will get up to tomorrow.”
