Astronauts up in the International Space Station (ISS) have been regularly posting breathtaking photos of the earth on social media. The latest photo features aurora lights during a night-time pass of the Earth.

Uploaded by astronaut Thomas Pesquet to his Twitter account, the image shows a part of the planet at night, littered by specks of light from cities. Above this, however, are magnificent aurora lights that radiate an eerie green glow with streaks of blue.
