Initially leaked via Amazon, THQ Nordic and Gunfire Games have announced that Darksiders III is currently in development.
As reported on IGN First, the game is scheduled to be released in 2018 for PS4, Xbox One and PC. It will be an open-world action-adventure game that involves a new protagonist, Fury.
According to a Kotaku report, the leak on Amazon featured a listing for Darksiders III which included screenshots as well as a product description about the game.
“After countless rumors, a major catalogue acquisition, and even a corporate re-brand, the team at THQ Nordic is thrilled to finally confirm plans for Darksiders III,” said Lars Wingefors, co-founder and group CEO at THQ Nordic AB.
Set in a post-apocalyptic world, the story for Darksiders III will run parallel with the events of Darksiders II. This time, players will follow Fury, another of the four horsemen as she tracks down and destroys the physical manifestations of the Seven Deadly Sins. Alfred Bayle/JB
