Find a workout buddy with new ‘Gymder’ app
For some, the gym is a sanctuary and a place of solitude to go to, to better themselves.
Others, however, seek extra motivation to get through their workouts—in the form of an exercise companion or a “gym buddy.”

Much like the popular dating app Tinder, the Munich, Germany-developed app uses location to pair its users.
But despite its eerily similar features with the notorious “hook-up” app, Gymder officials made it clear that it’s not a dating platform and is more like an ”Instagram/Tinder for athletes.”

“Thereby users can find each other and train together anytime and anywhere. The GYMDER team includes fitness lovers that have found motivation in each other and celebrated success together. Besides, the team includes experienced and passionate counterparts that have a joint vision and strongly believe that GYMDER will transform fitness.”
Furthermore, the app also requires access to users’ photos, for them to be eligible to appear in its home-screen interface.
But unlike Tinder, there’s no swiping left or right. Instead, users will be treated to a vast home screen with a bunch of floating heads to connect with.
