Apple iPhone 8 leaks and rumors run rampant on the internet. This time, the leak is not just photos but a physical mock-up recreated from 3D CAD data supposedly sourced from the factory making the new iPhone.
According to Tiger Mobiles and @OnLeaks, the item featured on the video above is what the iPhone 8 could look like. They claim that this mock-up was created using CNC machining process. This process uses pre-programmed computer software to control factory machines and tools, to create a product.
Through CNC machining, an item can easily be recreated using software like Autodesk CAD.
Looking at the recreated item on the video, it appears that not much will change in the overall design of the iPhone 8 compared with the iPhone 7. However, previous reports indicated the lack of a physical home button on the front as well as an embedded fingerprint scanner on the screen.
TigerMobiles also reported that the iPhone 8 may get an IP68 waterproof rating. This means that the iPhone 8 would be water resistant up to a maximum depth of 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.
Apple may still do some changes to the final product, but for now, this video has provided consumers the closest look at what the upcoming iPhone 8 could be. JB
