iPhone assembler confirms wireless charging, waterproof features
An executive from Winstron, a Taiwanese information and communication technology manufacturer, recently confirmed that the upcoming iPhones they will be making for Apple will feature wireless charging and waterproofing.
Winstron chief executive Robert Hwang confirmed to reporters present at the company’s annual shareholders’ meeting that wireless charging technology for iPhones coming out later this year will need slightly different testing and assembly procedures, reports Nikkei Asian Review.

Jeff Pu of Yuanta Investment Consulting and Arthur Liao of Fubon Securities also mentioned that Winstron will be splitting the manufacturing of the 5.5-inch iPhones that have flat displays with the Foxconn Technology Group, also known as Hon Hai.
Apple has yet to confirm the full details of their upcoming iPhone 8 and 7s but rumors have been circulating that a radical redesign is in store. The slightly changed manufacturing process also gives some weight to previous speculations of manufacturing delays for these new iPhones. Alfred Bayle/JB
