Every time a new episode of “Game of Thrones” is aired, Facebook friends lists get a little shorter due to irresponsible individuals posting spoilers.
A man in an I.T. department figured out a way to stop people in his office from sharing spoilers by threatening to make their computers “run slower than a 1997 Compaq with a 56K modem.”
The photo was uploaded on Reddit by user Nyrfan82 and shows a rather smug-looking office worker with a printed sign hanging around his neck, using an iPhone cable.

While some arguments broke out in the thread about how fast or slow computers from the 1990s were, other commenters recalled their experience with a ’97 Compaq.

As a point of reference, a 1997-era computer would most likely be less powerful than most smartphones in use today. Not to mention that a 56K modem with a dial up connection may need around fifteen minutes to open Gmail. So yes, this I.T. dude is very serious about not getting his “Game of Thrones” enjoyment spoiled. JB
