Video game releases this week: ‘Forza 7’, ‘Battle Chasers’, ‘A Hat in Time’, ‘Dragon’s Dogma’

Among games launching on the first week of October are premium car racer game “Forza Motorsport 7”, retro-modern action adventure “A Hat in Time”, the painterly homage to classic JRPGs and a 1998 comic book “Battle Chasers: Nightwar”, and a reissue of the cult hit swords-and-sorcery jaunt “Dragon’s Dogma”.

Roar around 32 courses in over 700 motor vehicles, souping them up from race to race, with cross-platform online multiplayer between Xbox One and Windows 10 editions, and changing weather conditions during races. Very favorably received according to a slew of early reviews.

Battle Chasers: Nightwar
For PlayStation 4, XBO, WinPC, Nintendo Switch
From Oct. 3
Travel through lands and lairs populated by monstrous beings in this homage to turn-based role-playing adventure classics. Based on the 10-issue comic book run from Joe Madureira, who directed 2007 game “Darksiders”, a distinctive art style is assured.

Fantasy based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s novels, and the follow-up to its surprise hit 2014 predecessor, in which enemies developed ongoing feuds with the hero character. Now, players can accumulate numerous followers, embark on multiplayer invasions, and use microtransactions to boost their progression. JB
