Giant robots from Japan, US all set for epic battle
The long awaited fight between an American-made machine and a Japanese “mecha” finally has a date. This match will also be streamed live on the internet.
American company MegaBots Inc. announced the battle on its Twitter account. It included the time, date and online channels where the fight can be watched. The stream will go live on Twitch at 7 p.m. Pacific Standard Time, Oct. 17 (10 a.m., Oct. 18 in Manila).
Article continues after this advertisementWhile MegaBots had been actively tweeting about its machine’s progress, Suibodashi Heavy Industries the Japanese side of the competition, has been somewhat quiet on its modifications.
The last time Suibodashi uploaded anything about their Kuratas robot was a YouTube video in 2015. It was a video to accept the challenge from the Americans.
MegaBots first issued the giant robot challenge in June 2015. The event went through numerous delays due to venue issues, but it appears the fight will finally push through this time.
