Even after all the preparations, presentations just have a way of breaking down midway, at times. That is exactly what happened during a Microsoft presentation, when the presenter was forced to install Google Chrome.

Michael Leworthy had been making a presentation about Azure Migrate on the Microsoft Edge browser. His talk came to the point where he would demonstrate how Azure Migrate detected virtual machines to get data, at around the 37-minute mark. When he tried, the search came up empty.

This put the whole presentation on pause. “I always love it when demos break,” said Leworthy.

To get things moving along, he went on Microsoft Apps and proceeded to download Google chrome, “While we’re talking here, I’m gonna go install Chrome.”

The act elicited laughter and applause from the audience to which Leworthy quipped, “We’re going to not help make Google better.”

Downloading the program and installing it took only about a minute. Afterwards, Leworthy was able to proceed with his demonstration.

Netizens found the event embarrassing and amusing at the same time.

Leworthy mentioned that the Microsoft Edge browsers on the presentation laptop he’s using was on “lock-down a little bit.” This may have prevented the computer from detecting virtual machines on a network.

The entire presentation had been recorded and uploaded on the Microsoft Ignite YouTube channel. JB
