Two new OLED display-equipped iPhones may be in development and released later this year.
A report from The Investor said a 5.85- and a 6.64-inch iPhone might join the iPhone X in store shelves later this year.
The iPhone X’s OLED display currently gets its supply from Samsung. The report said LG would be making the OLED display and a new “L-shaped” battery for the upcoming 6.64 iPhone.
Apple Insider previously reported that the iPhone X sales would stop once the next generation gets introduced due to lower than expected demand. However, this new report from The Investor suggests Apple’s first OLED display iPhone would continue to be sold alongside its successors.
Apple has yet to release any statement regarding the future of the iPhone X. However, given its hefty price tag and the competition offered by its Android counterparts, it may not be surprising that demand did not turn up to be as high as the company had expected. Alfred Bayle /ra
