A tweet by actress Gal Gadot to honor the departed Stephen Hawking raised a few eyebrows among netizens who found her words to be ableist in nature.

Ableism refers to discrimination and social prejudice against people with disabilities.

They noted how the “Wonder Woman” star used the words “physical constraints” and interpreted it as referring to Hawking’s condition. The physicist suffered from a slow-progressing form of Lou Gehrig’s disease which gradually paralyzed him over the years.

A few commenters took offense that Gadot would even consider Hawking “constrained” when he has accomplished a lot during his lifetime.

Some pointed out their own conditions which they claim to have overcome, while accomplishing notable deeds like Hawking did.

Meanwhile, a some commenters tried to defend Gadot’s post by saying that it simply spoke about death, and that all human bodies have constraints or limitations, anyway and in fact.
