Amazon’s AI assistant Alexa has added a new Skill to its feature set that is intended to help players improve at action game “Call of Duty”.

By allowing Amazon and Call of Duty accounts to network with each other, players can access personal recommendations such as game mode strategies, optimized loadouts and areas for improvement.

Amazon’s Alexa can deliver in-game statistics via a computerized male voice, and can be used inside or outside of live play.

Wouldn’t using an all-seeing AI be considered cheating?

Perhaps not when the Call of Duty Alexa Skill was built by Activision, publisher of “Call of Duty” itself.

It “provides you with critical intel, personalized instruction and essential after-action reports in real-time so you can take your game to the next level, whether you’re a battle-hardened vet or rookie,” reads the official Call of Duty website.

Currently in beta, it can be activated by enabling the Call of Duty skill through Amazon’s Alexa website or dedicated app, then linking Alexa to a specific “Call of Duty” account.

Call of Duty Alexa Skill currently supports “Call of Duty: World War II”. “Call of Duty: Black Ops 4” launches Oct. 12, 2018. JB
