Telecommunications giant PLDT Inc. on Tuesday issued an advisory informing its subscribers, especially those with the Smart Communications Inc., of a possible slow internet connectivity after an undersea cable link to Hong Kong had been damaged.

“Due to damage to our undersea cable link to Hong Kong, you may experience a slowdown from time to time when accessing certain sites and apps like Facebook Google, and Netflix,” PLDT and Smart said in separate statements.

The PLDT added that it will provide “remedial measures” while preparing the repair of the damaged cables.

“We apologize for the inconvenience and shall provide future updates,” PLDT said. /jpv
