/ 12:34 PM July 18, 2018

The Angono Municipal Police in Rizal might have the good intentions when it issued tips on ways to prevent rape, but netizens called out certain suggestions that seemed to express archaic ideas.

On Tuesday, the Angono Police listed 10 ways for women to avoid rape. Among the tips were: “not wearing short clothes” and “not drinking when on a date.”

Netizens disagreed.

Joanne Saldana Quintos, meanwhile, suspected it was male cops who created the post.

“Maybe those who created this are all males. Therefore, they all think alike,” she said.

The Angono Rizal Police, however, maintained the post is part of a “massive information drive and campaign to protect women.”

The Facebook post has been shared over 2,400 times and gained more than 1,600 reactions as of this posting.   /kga
