It would house employees from his Boring Company, SpaceX, and Tesla, with house rent prices lower than the state average. Also, Snailbrook will offer exclusive benefits.

The reported Elon Musk city would likely have the name “Snailbrook,” referring to The Boring Company’s snail mascot.
The billionaire picked the character after Elon Musk challenged employees to build boring or digging machines that move “faster than a snail.”
CNN reported that the Elon Musk city will allow employees from Tesla, SpaceX, and the Boring Company to “live in new homes with below-market rents.”
According to Zillow, the median rent in Bastrop is roughly $2,199. In contrast, home rent in Snailbrook reportedly promises to charge only $800 monthly.
Moreover, the project allegedly has plans for building more than 100 homes. It would also have neighborhood amenities like an outdoor sports area, a pool, and a Montessori school.
The Austin American-Statesman reports the billionaire is planning to private residential compound far away from the Snailbrook project area.
The significantly lower rent prices and neighborhood amenities may seem enticing for employees.
However, living in Snailbrook would mean they would have to follow Elon Musk’s rules. For example, if a worker leaves their job or gets fired, they would have to leave the city in 30 days.
