The simplest and fastest way to connect your PS5 DualSense is via USB cable. Use the wire that came with your controller, and Windows will automatically detect it.

That means you don’t need to set it up before playing games. However, it’s more convenient to connect wirelessly, so here’s how to do it via Bluetooth:

  1. Head to Settings.
  2. Click Add a device.
  3. Then, select Bluetooth. 
  4. Choose your controller, which would likely appear as “Wireless Controller.” 
  5. Wait until its light stops blinking and emits a steady blue light. 
  6. Afterward, click Done.

As mentioned, you probably play games on Steam. Ensure your PS5 controller links to the popular game library with these steps:

  1. Link your PS5 controller to your PC and launch Steam. 
  2. Next, head to the Steam menu.
  3. Click Settings and then select Controller. Your DualSense should appear as “DualSense Wireless Controller.” 
  4. Open External Gamepad Settings.
  5. Afterward, set PlayStation Controller Support to Enabled

If you have a Mac, follow these steps from the official Apple page instead:

  1. Ensure your PS5 controller is off.
  2. Press and hold the PS button and the Create button simultaneously until the light bar begins to flash. Consequently, your device will enter pairing mode, letting your Mac detect it.
  3. Open Bluetooth settings on your Apple device and then select your controller.
