Binance removed from Google Play Store Philippines

Users have noticed the Binance app missing from the Google Play Store, however the website remains active and continues to be available in the Apple Play Store.

SEC’s crackdown on crypto

Binance has been marked by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) back in 2023, when a warning was issued for operating without the necessary license to offer and sell crypto products to Filipino residents.

In 2024, SEC ordered Binance to be removed from the Google and Apple playstore as the company still hasn’t secured the required license.

In August 2025, SEC issued warnings to OKX, Bybit, and Bitget for the same reasons. Following these, SEC ensured that cryptocurrency trading will continue as long as service providers followed the Crypto Asset Service Providers (CASP) rules.
