Google new intelligent glasses to release by Fall 2026

MANILA, Philippines – Google introduced their new smart glasses in partnership with Gentle Monster and Samsung during the Google I/O event on May 19, 2026.

The known South Korean eyewear brand has integrated Google’s native AI model, Gemini, into this latest tech. Google’s eyewear will come in two types: display and audio glasses.

The audio glasses will have information read verbally as users look into various objects or seek instructions.

How does it work?

To prompt Gemini to answer queries, “Hey Google” must be spoken first followed by the prompt. Us

Users wearing the eyewear will not only see AR information on their frames, but hear the descriptions or instructions clearly.

Prompts can range from simple descriptions, request for recipes, or live translation. 

The glasses let Gemini scan what it sees, analyze the area, and combine that information with Gemini’s world knowledge.”

The audio glasses will be the first to release this fall.

Meanwhile, the display glasses will show you the information on your frame when needed. No further announcements were made on its release after the audio glasses.

Google on AI innovations

The reveal of the glasses capped off the latest announcements and innovations surrounding the tech giant’s native AI model, Gemini. 

Among those revealed in Google I/O was the new Gemini Omni, their latest video-editing model that creates videos out of prompts.
