Apple introduces Siri AI at WWDC 2026

MANILA, Philippines – Apple joins the growing trend of AI by implementing the technology into Siri after Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 8.

When Siri was first introduced in 2011, it was a game changer for Apple users. 

The voice-activated assistant made life easier for users on the go and offered a glimpse of the technology’s potential.

However, late to the game compared to its competitors, Siri has finally joined the age of AI.

The AI-powered Siri’s capabilities

Similar to ChatGPT or Gemini, Apple’s Siri will become capable of processing images and providing learned descriptions. 

With its AI capabilities, this new version will be able to recall past queries. Users will be able to access this through its dedicated app.

Siri can now also learn from users’ emails, messages, and photos to provide more intuitive responses.

The digital assistant will now become more personal as it learns from the user to give it more awareness and understanding. 

Adding to the list of what the new Siri can do, it can now take notes in the Notes app, answer follow-up questions, and draft more conversational emails.

“We’re excited to introduce Siri AI, a dramatically more capable and conversational assistant designed to help users find information and get things done throughout the day,” said Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering. 

“With access to broad world knowledge for up-to-date answers on virtually any topic, along with onscreen awareness and personal context understanding, Siri AI can help users take action across apps more naturally than ever.”

The new version will become available across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro.

It will also be possible to personalize Siri’s voice, such as its diction, pace, and expressiveness.
