IT firm unveils improved cloud services
MANILA, Philippines – International technology company Oracle unveiled their improved cloud services with their Oracle Elastic Cloud Software 2.0 that runs on Oracle Exalogic computer systems.
“Since the general availability of Oracle Exalogic in January 2011, customers are experiencing tremendous improvements in application performance and vast reductions in the complexity of their application infrastructures, while improving their time-to-market of revenue generating services,” Hasan Rizvi, senior vice president, Oracle Fusion Middleware and Java Products, Oracle, said in a statement.
Oracle Exalogic is a computer appliance that has been adopted by 43 countries and across 23 industries, Oracle said in a statement. Exalogic has “Up to 10x performance gains for Oracle Applications, Java-based applications and other business applications,” and “Up to 6x faster application provisioning to help customers quickly respond to changing market needs.”
“Built on open, industry standards, Oracle Exalogic can support consolidation of hundreds of Java and non-Java applications and delivers lower total cost of ownership by supporting more transactions on less hardware and software with ease of management,” Rizvi said.
Exalogic’s speed can be attributed to its high-speed communication fabric known as Exabus. It is “the foundation of Oracle Exalogic’s extreme performance, reliability and scalability and ties all Oracle Exalogic system components together,” its statement said.
Exalogic also “supports consolidation of multiple applications on the same system as a private cloud, while eliminating security risks through complete application isolation.”
It also has the Oracle Traffic Director application built into the system that can manage heavy traffic volume quickly from applications and ensuring security at the same time.
“Oracle Exalogic provides customers and partners with an engineered system that accelerates the performance and can protect and maximize return on their existing and future Oracle software investments,” it said.
Exalogic is the best choice for running Oracle’s wide array of applications for businesses. “These applications have been optimized, tested, benchmarked and certified on Oracle Exalogic for extreme performance,” Oracle said.
Márcio Kumruian, Chief Executive Officer of Netshoes, a footwear distributor in Latin America, said that they were able to optimize their business. They previously needed 30 to 40 machines with 120 virtual instances, he said.
“With Oracle Exalogic, we have consolidated to one server with only 16 instances, providing both cost savings and increased business efficiency. All the pieces work together, so we can focus on customer service and expanding our business,” Kumruian said.
