No BlackBerry email, messenger late Saturday till early Sunday

MANILA, Philippines–BlackBerry mobile phone users in the Philippines will have no email and internal messenger for four hours starting today (Saturday).
The Canadian mobile giant will have a “maintenance activity” that will affect some mobile users in the Asia Pacific region, Globe Telecom said in an advisory Saturday.

But Globe said the service disruptions will only affect BlackBerry’s internal email and messenger systems.

“You will still continue to enjoy your other Globe services such as call, text and internet browsing,” it said.
The scheduled maintenance starts at 11 p.m. (not a.m. As earlier reported) Saturday until 3 a.m. Sunday.
