Apple announces iOS 10 at WWDC

Apple surprised everyone when it unveiled the iOS at the 2016 Worldwide Developers Conference. According to a report on TechCrunch, Apple will be releasing a public beta by next month.

This new iOS will revamp a lot of features first of which is the lock screen which can be seen by simply raising the iPhone through the “Raise to Wake” function.

3D Touch is also one of the major features on iOS 10. Deep pressing on a notification creates a tiny window for message conversations. Other apps will be able to take advantage of this feature.

Similar to some Android devices, you can now swipe right to launch the camera while swiping left displays widgets.

The iOS 10 notification center now bears a close similarity to the Apple Watch control center.

Apple’s AI assistant Siri is also receiving a big upgrade which will allow it to be integrated with third-party apps. Siri will now be able to send WeChat messages, call ride in Uber, and more.

Deep learning will now be integrated into iOS 10 of the iPhone for face recognition. Aside from faces, it can even detect objects in photos for further categorization options. This works hand-in-hand with the Photos app which allows it to create memories from a collection of photos similar to Google Photos.

The Maps app upgrade enables it to provide Proactive suggestions. Based one your current route for example, it can suggest a number of things to do like making your work itinerary.

Apple Music has also been completely redesigned as presented by the exemplary Bozoma Saint John.

Finally, Messages will now has a rich preview, bigger emojis, and a mixed live camera as well as photo picker screen. Third-party developers will also be able to create extensions for Messages.
