Cool again: Artist creates VHS boxes for modern films
Before VCDs, DVDs and torrents were invented, Video Home System (VHS) dominated the home entertainment scene.
To resuscitate the “good old times” of home entertainment, one artist rose to become a social media star after he created major “throwback” VHS covers for 21st century-era films.
Instagram user Iamsteelberg snaps and fascinates social media with his ’80s “renditions” of contemporary films. In several posts on his account, he has wrapped VHS covers with movie posters of “It Follows,” “Mad Max,” “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” “The Pacific Rim” and even Netflix’s sci-fi film “Stranger Things.”
