Two of the country’s biggest telecommunications firms, Smart Communications and Globe Telecom, have released advisories concerning the global recall of Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 smartphones.

The Philippines was among several countries affected by the sudden pullout of the devices following the Korean tech giant’s discovery of a battery glitch that caused some of the phones to overheat and catch fire.

The firm assured its customers that they would replace their Note 7 with other devices of their choice, as long as they’re available.

For those who wish to keep their phones, Globe reminded them to follow proper safety precautions, like using the original battery charger that came with the unit.

Samsung, meanwhile, said that the new Note 7’s could arrive  as early as next week but hasn’t confirmed yet when the Salaxy S7 units would be available. Khristian Ibarrola/rga
