Snapchat’s new update adds more information to each snap

Apart from offering photos and videos that expire within 24 hours of posting, there’s not much going on with each Snapchat content.
The social media platform finally addressed this issue by introducing the “Context Cards” feature, which now allows users to share general information about their current location like hotels and restaurants while also offering reviews, directions and additional posts from others in the same area.
According to a Fortune report, the slick new update will be made available through a pop-up display seen within the app’s Geofilters, which are publicly shared in the “Our Story” feed.
“With Context Cards, Snaps have become the visual starting point for learning more about the world, empowering our community to get more information about anything that catches their eye,” the company wrote in a statement.
Furthermore, the location-driven feature will also work well with restaurant reservation apps like OpenTable and Resy, as well as ride-sharing services Uber and Lyft.
Snapchat will also look to partner with more applications in the future, to maximize the potential of the new feature.
The image-messaging app, meanwhile, has continued to expand its services and add more features to attract new users and keep them engaged for longer periods of time.
Snapchat has been facing setbacks in recent years due to its slowing user growth. The company looks to regain its place atop the battle of social networks, after rivals Facebook and Instagram copied its features for their own services. Khristian Ibarrola /ra
