Have you ever wanted to clean up your Facebook feed?

Statista says Facebook has over 3 billion users, so it’s unsurprising that your feed would fill with a lot of clutter. 

Add the sponsored content from inside and outside your country, and it’s no wonder that navigating social media is a mess.

Popular Science says the first step is to unfollow friends and other profiles that you don’t need. Select a person or page and then click their three-dot icon on the right.

Then, tap Unfollow [Name] and repeat the process on more profiles, pages, and groups. If you still want to get occasional updates from a person, tap Hide Post instead.

Get rid of unwanted ads by changing the Ad Preferences with these steps:

  1. Tap or click your profile photo on your Facebook profile. 
  2. Then, open Settings & Privacy and access Settings.
  3. Open Ads if you’re using a computer or click Ad Preferences if you’re on mobile. 

These steps will reveal Ad Settings, Categories used to reach you, Other categories, and See all categories. Select each one to see what information guides ads on your Facebook feed. 

Then, tap the Remove button to eliminate specific ones. Also, open the Advertisers option, select Advertisers whose ads you’ve clicked, and tap Hide Ads to block sponsored content.

You may also declutter your social media feed by focusing on close friends and family using custom lists. Make one by following these steps:

  1. Open Facebook on a PC web browser. 
  2. Click Friends and open the Custom Lists option.
  3. Then, select Close Friends and add or remove friends with the Manage button.
