Wit wins it in Inquirer tilt
MANILA, Philippines—A combination of wit and a nose for news helped six Twitter users win the promo of the Inquirer’s Digital Newsstand on Friday.
The winners—Erinel Sagmit, Monna Fay de Ocampo, Dominic Laylo, Francisco Sumio, Marie Mangaliman and Kirk Nicole Matoza—posted on Twitter the best captions with the #InquirerPlus hashtag for the photos found in the Focus sections on Nov. 10-14 and Nov. 17-21.

“[The Inquirer] has all of everything, from news to entertainment to sports,” said Sagmit, who said he enjoyed reading the newspaper on weekends.
He said his winning caption, “Face your book, not your Facebook,” came from his observation that people were more busy poring over their social media accounts than reading actual books.

Being a multiplatform app—which may be accessed on cell phones, tablets and computers, “[Inquirer Plus] allows readers to get more engaged with the news,” Rufino said.
Downloading the Inquirer Plus app gives access to the digital edition of Inquirer publications, which include the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Inquirer Libre, Junior Inquirer, Sunday Inquirer Magazine and Inquirer Golf, as well as Bandera, Cebu Daily News and Hinge Inquirer specialty magazines.
