Huge inflatable moon wreaks havoc on Chinese city

/ 06:10 PM September 15, 2016

It was just like a horrifying scene in a space-themed movie.

An enormous inflatable moon was filmed dashing through the streets of Fuzhou, Fujian province, southern China, and squishing pedestrians and cars nearby.

In the clip posted on China Xinhua News Twitter account, the “celestial” ball rolled on several street lanes after Super-typhoon Meranti blew it away from its festival float. It was not known if there were casualties or damages due to the fleeing ball.

The inflated moon is part of the preparations for the Mid-Autumn Festival, which is traditionally held on the eve of the full moon. People usually celebrate the festival with moon cakes filled with red beans.  Gianna Francesca Catolico
