Facepalm, seflie emojis to arrive in iOS soon

One of the newest emojis on iOS 10. 2. will reflect everyone’s common thoughts about Philippine politics and current events.

On Monday, Apple released a beta version of the next iPhone software update to developers, which will finally feature 72 new emojis including the much-awaited “facepalm” emoji, Telegraph reported. Several designs are also previewed on Emojipedia‘s website.

Other neophytes in the next batch of emojis include an avocado, croissant and a person taking a selfie. Unicode Consortium, the committee tasked to govern emojis, gave the 72 emojis a “thumbs up” back in June.

There is also a fingers-crossed emoji for nervous social media fanatics and a bacon emoji compatible enough for the sunny-side up egg emoji.

Currently, Apple’s virtual emoji directory shelters 1,601 emojis. The previous iOS update last August previewed parenting-themed emojis and replaced the pistol emoji with a shiny green water gun after an anti-gun violence group called Apple’s attention.
