This feature will become available upon the release of iOS 11. Apple is also pushing for Siri to handle more tasks similar to Google Assistant. A few such functions are monitoring user web browsing and looking for other resources relevant to user interests. Users will also be able to ask Siri to play music for them on the recently announced Apple HomePod.

Siri will then be synchronized on all Apple devices so that users can enjoy the same functionality whether be it on an iPhone or a Mac. The company notes that the synchronized data will still be encrypted to protect customer privacy.

There are already a number of useful translation apps available on the App Store but a Siri that understands foreign languages would be a huge help to Apple users. And it would be really cool, too. Alfred Bayle/JB
