Some 500 gamers and members of the public gathered at Brunei’s first Brunei E-Sports Tournament 2017 (BEST 2017) at the Indah Hall of the Royal Brunei Recreation Club (RBRC) yesterday.

Organized by Game On in conjunction with the Brunei December Festival 2017, the two-day event saw teams and individual players compete in popular video games such as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, FIFA 18, Super Smash Bros, Mobile Legends, League of Legends, Gran Turismo Sport, Vain Glory and Tekken 7.

The event is held to encourage and support the local gaming community, and the organisers hoped that it can act as a stepping stone for gamers with good potential to make a name for themselves and the country by taking part in international gaming tournaments.

The gaming tournament is in collaboration with RBRC and Brunei Tourism Board, along with TelBru and Netcom Computer House.
