Old iPhone owners are being given the red carpet treatment by Apple. The company has just confirmed that all iPhone batteries will be eligible for the replacement discount, regardless of their present condition.

MacRumors confirms this information with a direct statement from Apple: all iPhone 6 models and below will be eligible for battery replacements.

The iPhone maker generally has a proprietary diagnostic test to determine the battery’s health. Results from this test will be overruled in favor of the current battery discount promo.

A report from French website iGeneration via MacRumors suggests that customers who bought replacement batteries before the $29 (about P1,400) discounted price promo may get refunds. If they paid $79 (around P3,900) for a replacement battery, they may refund the difference of $50 (about P2,400) upon request.

Reports last December of Apple purposefully slowing down old iPhones forced the company to clarify its intentions for doing so. Unfortunately, customers were still unsatisfied by the reasons, thus the iPhone maker offered to replace old iPhone batteries at a discounted price until the end of 2018. JB
