Google welcomes new engineers from HTC
Google has finalized a deal with HTC’s mobile phone department and is expecting new engineers to join its team.
Initially made public in September 2017, the deal involves new engineers helping Google achieve “a series of firsts” for the smartphone industry, according to Google’s senior vice president for hardware, Rick Osterloh.
Article continues after this advertisementGoogle previously partnered with HTC to create the Nexus One smartphone and Nexus 9 tablet. Given HTC’s smartphone-making know-how, future Google devices may be something to look forward to.
The deal between the two companies also offers Google a chance to further expand in the Asia-Pacific region. They are targeting Taipei to become the largest Google engineering site in APAC. /ra
