Pornhub has taken a stand to remove fake porn videos modified to feature the faces of famous celebrities.
The adult video streaming site considers these fake videos to be nonconsensual, reports Motherboard.
“We do not tolerate any nonconsensual content on the site and we remove all said content as soon as we are made aware of it,” said Pornhub.
The website added that nonconsensual content violates its terms of service, which also cover contents such as revenge porn.
These fake porn videos have been created using a machine learning algorithm called FakeApp to replace the original face of a porn star with that of a celebrity or any other person.
A community of users regularly share their creations on the subreddit /r/deepfakes.
Pornhub has not released a timeline as to when the site will be purged of deepfake content. Meanwhile, Motherboard found videos tagged with “deepfake” are still searchable. Furthermore, results could be queried just by typing in “deepfakes” and the names of celebrities on the search bar. /ra
