LOOK: Where Google held its first press conference

September 2018 sees Google celebrate its 20th anniversary.

To mark the milestone, the company has released a selection of throwback photos from its beginnings, before becoming one of the tech industry’s biggest success stories.

Google held its first press conference on June 7, 1999.

The event saw Larry Page and Sergey Brin share their vision of Google and announce financing to the tune of $25 million from the Sequoia and Kleiner Perkins venture capital firms. Their investments no doubt paid off.

Google was incorporated as a privately-held company on Sept. 4, 1998. JB
