DICT signs MOU with Russian firm to boost cybersecurity

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Russian company BiZone Limited Liability Company (BiZone LLC) to enhance the country’s cybersecurity.

DICT Acting Secretary Eliseo Rio Jr. and BiZone LLC Chief Executive Officer Dmitry Samartsev agreed to conduct joint research and development on cybersecurity technologies and exchange information on cybersecurity policies, threats and technologies.

“This is the first step to a more advance partnership [on cybersecurity],” Rio said in a statement on Tuesday.

Russian Ambassador to the Philippines Igor Khovaev and Assistant Secretary for Cybersecurity and Enabling Technologies Allan Cabanlong were present during the ceremonial signing.
