Mimiyuuuh is PH’s top emerging local YouTube content creator in 2019
MANILA, Philippines — There’s another addition to yuOr LOcq4l j3j3 gHuÖrl Mimiyuuuh’s long list of achievements as she was hailed as the top emerging local YouTube creator in 2019.
This was revealed Thursday during a thanksgiving party organized by Google Philippines at their headquarters in Taguig City.
From going viral for her “Dalagang Pilipina” video, Mimiyuuuh now has a strong 1.92 million subscribers on YouTube, as of writing, as she shares a wide array of content on the platform such as fashion tips, music and dance covers, and simple daily adventures.
Her videos may offer a wide range of topics but one thing is constant in each one of them—they will draw laughter from you.
Actresses Heart Evangelista and Erich Gonzales, and several members of the cast of the hit television show “Kadenang Ginto” have appeared as guests in her videos.
Several celebrities are also in the list of top local YouTube content creators who made their big breakout this year including Maja Salvador, Jako Roberto, Regine Velasquez, and Jennylyn Mercado, among others.
INQUIRER.net was able to speak with Mervin Wenke, Head of Communications and Public Affairs of Google Philippines, who said that the Philippines is one of the biggest YouTube markets not only in the region but also in the world.
“We can attribute it in terms of the rise of digital media, the availability of the platform, the infrastructure, and the rise of mobile penetration so all these things come into play. YouTube being the go-to platform nowadays encourages people to consume the video and in the process it has become a cycle,” Wenke said.
“From being a viewer or consumer, it has come to a point now that the journey includes being a content creator now,” he added.
