Apple users have relied on the Macbook as a reliable laptop for work and study. If you are looking for a new one, consider the Macbook 12in M7.

It is a reliable and sturdy laptop that can handle most tasks, such as writing and browsing. Even better, it has unique features like Force Touch and Siri.

This article will discuss the many features of the Macbook 12in M7. Also, we will cover its pros and cons so that you can see if this laptop is right for you.

The Macbook 12in M7 will be the fastest Macbook to date, thanks to its 1.5GHz Intel Core m3-8100Y.

FEATURED STORIES

It allows apps to access sensor data without sending it to the main processor. As a result, the m7 chip can focus on more intensive tasks like video editing and gaming.

Previous Macbook models used the HD Graphics 5300 as their graphics processor, but the latest replaces it with the AMD Radeon Pro 5500M GPU.

Also, the Macbook 12in M7 has a Turbo mode that can raise the processing power from 1.3GHz to 3.6GHz.

The graphics card is an AMD Radeon Pro 5500M GPU with 4GB of GDDR6 memory. It offers a storage capacity of up to 1TB, but it only has 8GB of RAM.

Along with the IPS technology, it allows the laptop to run video games with high-quality graphics and no stuttering.

Unfortunately, the 8GB of RAM is a major downside to the Macbook 12in M7. Two years ago, I wrote about how 8GB of RAM is the standard if you will perform ordinary tasks on your laptop.

However, technology progresses at such a rapid rate that 16GB would eventually be the next standard.

Fortunately, you can configure the device to have 16GB RAM. Of course, more RAM would raise the price of your new Macbook.

Display, resolution, and keyboard

The Macbook 12in M7 has a 13.3-inch screen with an active-matrix retina-style LCD. Also, it has a resolution of 2304 x 1440 pixels.

The high-quality display and resolution let you enjoy top-notch visuals and smooth animations. As always, this Apple laptop offers a decent keyboard and trackpad.

Those are important since you would rely on those to control your laptop. Fortunately, the Macbook keyboard is smooth and sleek with backlit keycaps.

In other words, you may have the buttons have an underlying glow so that you can type in the dark. Moreover, the large trackpad offers great control.

It has Force Touch that lets you use gestures and sketch on the Macbook 12in M7. Also, the trackpad has a built-in fingerprint reader that helps secure your laptop.

One nitpick you could say about the Macbook’s keyboard is the lack of haptic feedback. Some people prefer clicking sounds when typing because it feels more intuitive.

Meanwhile, the silent keystrokes of the Macbook 12in M7 might put off writers or keyboard enthusiasts. Nowadays, personalized keyboards are a major tech trend.

Battery Life, Design, and Price

The Macbook 12in M7 can run for roughly 10 hours on a single charge. However, that depends on the tasks it would perform.

Gaming or video editing requires more processing than typing or browsing the web. Consequently, those activities could drain battery life faster.

Bring the adapter and work near an outlet if you use this Macbook extensively. Also, the Macbook 12in M7 is available in four colors: Silver, Space Gray, Rose Gold, and Gold.

It features two Thunderbolt 3 ports and a headphone jack. Those ports might become problematic as Apple follows the EU ruling to use USB-C for its devices.

Here comes the biggest drawback to the Macbook 12in M7: the price! Believe it or not, the latest model would cost $2,499.

Would you be willing to pay that much for an above-average laptop? You have a year to decide because the expected release date is 2024.

Conclusion

The Macbook 12in M7 will be the fastest Apple laptop as it uses a different processor from the previous models.

Also, the wider screen and keyboard expand its uses for work and study. Still, the hefty $2,499 would likely discourage most people from buying it.
